Question 1

How far in advance should I book my session?

Accepted Answer

I recommend booking at least 4-6 weeks in advance to secure your preferred date, especially during peak seasons (spring and fall). For newborn sessions, it's best to book during your pregnancy to ensure availability.

Question 2

What should we wear for our family photos?

Accepted Answer

I recommend coordinating rather than matching outfits. Choose a complementary color palette with 2-3 colors and avoid large logos or distracting patterns. I provide a detailed style guide after booking to help you prepare.

Question 3

How long until we receive our photos?

Accepted Answer

You'll receive a few sneak peeks within 48 hours of your session. The complete gallery will be delivered within 1 - 2 weeks, depending on the season and current workload.

Question 4

What happens if it rains on the day of our outdoor session?

Accepted Answer

If the weather doesn't cooperate, we'll reschedule for the next available date at no additional cost. I keep a close eye on forecasts and will be in touch 24-48 hours before your session if weather looks concerning.

Question 5

Do you offer mini sessions?

Accepted Answer

Yes! I offer seasonal mini sessions a few times throughout the year (spring, fall, and holiday). These are shorter sessions at a reduced rate. Follow me on Instagram or join my email list to be notified when these become available.

Question 6

Can we purchase prints through you?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! I work with professional print labs to ensure the highest quality. You can order directly through your online gallery, and I'm happy to provide guidance on sizes and display options.

Question 7

Do you travel for sessions?

Accepted Answer

Yes! I love shooting in new locations. I serve Ottawa and the surrounding region, including Gatineau, Cornwall, Kingston, and Montreal. Travel within the Ottawa area is included in all session fees. For destinations further out, a travel fee may apply — reach out for a custom quote and I'll be happy to work something out.

Question 8

Are the photos edited or retouched?

Accepted Answer

Every image in your gallery is professionally edited for color, tone, and light. I apply my signature soft, timeless style to each photo. Targeted retouching (skin smoothing, blemish removal) is available upon request for select images.

Question 9

What locations do you shoot at?

Accepted Answer

I'm happy to shoot anywhere meaningful to you — a local park, your home, a favorite café, or a scenic outdoor spot. I also have a few go-to locations I love and can suggest if you're not sure where to start.

Question 10

How does payment work?

Accepted Answer

A non-refundable retainer (50% of the session fee) is due at booking to secure your date. The remaining balance is due 48 hours before your session.

Question 11

What if we need to reschedule?

Accepted Answer

Life happens — I get it. One free reschedule is allowed with at least 72 hours notice. Rescheduling with less than 72 hours notice may result in a rebooking fee, except in the case of illness or emergency.

Question 12

Do you photograph newborns?

Accepted Answer

Yes, newborn sessions are one of my favorites. I recommend scheduling them within the first 5–14 days of birth when babies are sleepiest. Sessions take place in your home for comfort and typically last 2–3 hours. Book during your second trimester to guarantee availability.

Question 13

How long does a typical session last?

Accepted Answer

Most portrait and family sessions run 60–90 minutes. Newborn sessions are longer, usually 2–3 hours. I build in plenty of time so we never feel rushed — there's always room for outfit changes, feeding breaks, and candid moments in between.
